Protective Edge Training was created by Police Chief Paul Brentar to teach people the essential skills needed to prevail during a self-defense encounter with a pistol. We not only focus on “real world of work” skills but also on the mindset needed to prevail during such encounters. A handgun is the most likely firearm that you will have with you during a self-defense encounter, which is why we focus our training courses on it.
Chief Brentar has over 20 years of law enforcement experience and is a state-certified firearms instructor. He is also an Active Shooter Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Glock armorer, and an AR-15 armorer. He serves as an adjunct instructor at the local police academy in firearms and defensive tactics as well.
He is a certified RDS (Red Dot Sight) instructor through Modern Samurai Project and Sage Dynamics.
He is a 3/4 Black Belt patch holder from Modern Samurai Project- August 2023.
He is also a Black Belt Patch holder from The Complete Combatant- September 2023.
